Vacation in NE

We combined our work trips to NE with our vacation this year. It worked out pretty well except for the massive amount of luggage we had with us.

Brett convinced Sarah that the penguins were coming for her so she had a nice scare!

She put her hands in the water which created the super excited face.  And no she didn't touch the stingrays in the tank.

About to go down into the submarine

New Childrens Museum!

We went to a new museum today while Daddy had a fun day.  It was a bit far -- about 40 minutes -- but free for service families so figured it would make up for it.  It was in the old downtown area that used to be a bank.  The ceiling and marble columns(mostly covered up) were awesome. Overall, a bit small for another visit but good for a morning.

Trains Trains Trains!

Cool pulley lever system --- I wish they had a few more items like this..

Dress up area int he old bank vault. Sarah liked being Tinkerbell the best and twirled and danced around the mirror. I admit I tried to get her to wear the boy clothes first.

After a meltdown about sharing toys and not wanting to take off her dress and extreme crankiness in the car she finally slept!  This is her new big girl seat. Should last her for years!

Summer!

She did this not me! Pretty in pink!

Sarah added this to the cart... I won't even name all the other items she tried to add....

Wearing her shirt from Hawaii

Chillaxing on the couch with her "phones"

Artwork and pearls

Nature Walk at the park with our guide Cory.  I don't think Sarah is going to be a nature lover. I had to push her touch the little creatures and she didn't like tall grass or getting her hands dirty. She isn't even two yet and super girly!

Extra Weekend!

I felt like the weekend after the 4th was completely open since I had run all my errands and cleaned on Thursday/Friday.  Sarah now says a few sentences that I can catch sometimes. Very surprised each time.  She also likes the double words... "Eat Eat" for food and "Night Night" for bed/nap time.

The aftermath of Sarah running around in circles wildly waiting for the fireworks to start.

Our annual visit to where we got our dog and to drop off doggie supplies and our sponsorship of a kennel in memory of Addie.

Sarah and Dad in the Wells Fargo Stagecoach.  It bounced just like you were in a real one!

Sarah at the new Chuy's!  They had a section of the restaurant that seemed to be designated for families (yay!) and some Tex-Mex. Definitely getting my TX sopapillas next time!

Sarah no longer wants to walk in the stroller.  This was a very long 30 minute walk aka x3.

Helping mom push her empty stroller!

Happy 4th!

Daddy had to work so Sarah and I hit up Discovery Place. Love the Independence Day free parking downtown as well as our admission price.  FREE!!!  It was great. It had the younger kids area, science/exploration area, aquarium, real rainforest, special exhibits and really cool active stuff for when she gets older. We will definitely have to go back again.

They made a flag. Sarah decided it needed a bit more color!

Sarah in the water area. The smock lasted 2 seconds!
Water table without smock!
Sarah has been begging for the "poo" all week but we have been having these crazy thunderstorms for the past two weeks and the weather changes in an instant. I think they got rained on just after this!

Sarah's outfit for her night of fireworks!  The fireworks were almost a bust (like Sarah did sadly - but barely a cry despite a skinned knee and almost a black eye) but as we were waiting to leave after getting soaked 3 times they finally came out and we rushed back out to see it.  Love me some fireworks - Sarah actually wasn't scared!

Flying!  I was told she did a great job of kicking also!

New Stuff

Sarah has started to talk a bunch more. She says shoes. pool. Mickey(kind of). shiner.  I know am forgetting some. But she is really started to take off on talking. Whew.  A lot less to worry about now except her teacher says she leaves off the end of words. So now we are cutting off the pacifier (a painful process) to only bedtime and limiting tv.  Limiting tv is about to become no tv because she gets super obsessed and can't even handle just 30 minutes of tv!

She loves shoes! I had to buy some new shoes since she has been wanting her sperry's off immediately when we get home. Which was my sign that she is done with the size 4's.  Crazy since she lasted in the 3.5 for 6 months and these for like 3 months.  Her teacher even told me she had tiny feet. I guess not for long!  She has been demanding to wear her other new shoes as soon as she gets home. See my purchases from this weekend...

Sarah got sick a few weeks ago and even had a fever of 103.  She of course passed it on to Brett and I who took two weeks to recover. Here is her during her 2 days at home!

Sarah at Father's Day/Aunt's Birthday Lunch. She "required a huge piece of bread and you can see what she dipped it in below.

KETCHUP!!!

We got together with some friends for some parties.  Here is Sarah playing with her 4 day older friend, Grace Ann!

Sarah exploring a keg at a friend's housewarming. No she did not get any, but she sure seemed tempted sadly.

Running with another kid at the party.
Out shopping for some new duds for Dad. Sarah liked the purses, sunglasses and hats.
