Toddler

Sarah had a fast transition to the big kid (toddler room).  She went the Monday after her birthday. Granted she has been walking for several months and has lots of energy so probably a good time. The school transitioned her the week before by visiting the big kids for a few hours at the time with her main teaching taking her and picking her up.  But she went quick to milk (I only had the weekend to transition!)

She is doing well though.  Her new teacher has given us "instructions" that I get the feeling that I was bad in school and Brett doesn't care.  We have learned that Sarah loves to explore, run away from the teacher(hides underneath the table so the teacher(Ms. Nita) has to chase her.  She was called a "busy body" and that she was already running.

We stopped in to say hi to Ms Kitty after Sarah's 1 year dr. appointment on Friday and she said that one time Sarah cried when she saw her because she missed her and one time she just stared because she was confused as to why she was in her room.  50/50 not bad. However, Ms. Kitty said she just tries to avoid Sarah seeing her now since she is so attached to her.  ( I mean serious melt downs when Ms. Kitty was out at all. Horrible Horrible ones!)  Ms. Nita also said that there will be no more pacifiers (thanks for handling that tough duty for me!) and that she is going to get Sarah to follow instructions(also glad because my child is willful!)  Sarah has been dancing in Ms. Nita's class and she loves music so she is already following along with the steps... Yay!!!  Last thing, she goes up on the steps of the toddler playground equipment. It is going so fast!  We didn't get too many daycare pictures this week so I thought I would write it down!

This weekend we went up to the mountains for our friends' wedding.  Sarah got to be flower girl (no walk down the aisle because she easily may have just sat right down halfway and stolen the show. However, she did get to dress up and look super cute.  We also tried to take a few family pictures.  Next time, it might turn out better if we weren't so worn out from the busy but fun weekend!

Running around! I can't believe she left her flower headband on!

punkin!

Sarah and the bride!

Playing chase with Mrs. Andrea!

Peekaboo!

Sarah snuck into the bar FOUR times. I got in trouble on the last one and told the manager how to solve it. Shut the doors!

Brett giving his best man toast!

Retry of 1 year pictures. However, I think the outfit made her look like a boy. Confirmed - she looked like a boy!

I thought eating of the signs might be done by now!

Trying to get Sarah to stay still for a minute. You can see how that went!

Mom and Sarah!

Finally! Back to roaming the halls!!!

More family walking!

Sarah smushing the grooms face!

The bride's dad's best friend was playing with Sarah (specifically asked). They played the piano (self playing) together. When he tried to get her down she screamed bloody murder so they started playing again!

We also went to the pediatrician on Friday. Sarah has had a major growth spurt to be in the 90th percentile in height (31 inches) 50% weight 21.0 lbs and 85% in head (no idea on that number).  She also had five shots and we have to go back for the other 1/2 of the flue shot. Poor babe!!!  The nurse was awesomely fast. She would have stopped crying by the car but we took back the sucker I stole for myself (still in the wrapper!) and she then had a massive meltdown the rest of the way home. I blame that on the sucker not the shots!  However, he said she was almost perfect (communicating more would have gotten her there!) and was very impressed at her walking skills!

One Year Old

We have had a busy past couple of weeks in our household.  The biggest was of course was Sarah turning 1.  She is becoming quite a character.  She makes up play chase for her to take a bath or change her diaper.  She loves running up and down hallways! She also has a need for speed.  Swings, laundry basket hallway springs or herself, the little one is on the move.

For Sarah's birthday present, I picked her up early from the baby room (her last day!) and took her to the kids activity place just north of the city.

Sarah with her main teacher. Miss Kitty - Goodbye we miss you (and cry for you even when we see you after we transitioned classrooms!)

Sarah playing with my camera case when I came to play with her for a few minutes before we left the baby room for the last time!

Sarah driving the fire truck!

Not gonna get a convertible. NOT EVER!!!

Do you see the location of the water  bib. Yep, she got soaked!

In honor of her birthday we had a family birthday and one for our friends on Sarah's birthday weekend.  I would like to have had just one but our house is sooooo small. I am hoping for a bigger house soooooonnnnn........

The happy birthday hat lasted like 10 seconds!

Sarah and her swedish fish birthday cake. (Brett blew out the candles!)

Sarah eating her first cupcake. I knew it was a bad idea (puked it all up 2 hours later!)

hallway race improved from laundry baskets to chairs... Way better on the backs of old people!

Sarah is psyched for her new car (at least not a convertible!) --- Thanks Jesse and Caitlin!

Gnomad!!!

Since I am an evil parent and only will be able to choose so many Halloween costumes Sarah shall be a GNOME for Halloween.

I am not sure if she will be a girl or boy one (girl one in a way bigger size but still ordered it because GNOMES are awesome.)

Feel free to mail me some REAL gnomes for our picture. I only have one so far. Arghhh!!!

Approaching the 1 year mark!

This week I went out of town for two days and I didn't even get a smile when I returned. Oh Well guess she had a good time with Dad.
How they all slept while I was gone.....
How Dad entertains Sarah while I am gone -- yay for free kid youtube videos
This was my view hiking in the state park after my class finished. Awesome (until I got lost and started freaking out as it got dark)!!

We had a busy weekend though!

Sarah and I went to 4 stores by ourselves without Dad - whew, including a trip with a friend to Home Depot for some paint colors!!  We even took Shiner on a walk before that for over an hour.   So of course she did the following when we got back home!

On Sunday we went to church and then to the grocery store.  For the second weekend in a row, people from church have come up to us and said how cute (personality of course) Sarah was (so proud!).  The one from this Sunday was her peaking under the pews at someone in the back of the church for about 100 times!  (Kept her entertained!
Got the massive shopping cart at the grocery store so Sarah could Nascar it. (It was only 8:30 on a Sunday and no one was there!)

In the afternoon we went to Brett's family day appreciation lunch. Sarah loved the swings there, but not the pork! We even stopped by the base and she loved walking the halls.

Still no house. Boo!  (I thought it was funny. Sarah did not!

Not happy about her ghost adventure..

Today I got this notice from school. Makes me a bit sad.....

So I drowned my sorrows in a super fast cooking but requiring some strength recipe. Next time garlic and more cheese!! (Got the seal approval though!)

Busy Weekend!

Sarah has more new skills...

She can walk with multiple things in her hands at once... Kinda sort of running.

She has started leaving her tongue sticking out.  She randomly stuck it out at a guy at sushi on Thursday night. Whoops!!

We tried to have family pictures taken this week but it poured right before so super humid and wet. Not a good combo for the park. So we are having to reschedule. Big bummer!

I also discovered a kids song that I am in fact addicted to.  It is by KidsTV123 the animal sounds song. LOVE IT!

We went to Discovery Zone Kids just north of Charlotte. We tried to get there pretty early since figured it would get packed (it did!)  We made it like an hour and a half before it got insanely busy and figured Sarah was at her new place limit.  See some pics below.  Definitely will be going back...

They had a fire truck too. I thought she  wouldn't quite appreciate it yet.

Water table. Love the seat idea!  This was the 3 and under area.

trying to ride the bee scooter. At one point another kid just literally took it from her. I cracked up!

Two is better!

Eating her veggies in the play house!

She struggled a bit on the whole. Seems a bit mean...

At the bank with dad!

Trying to steal another girls grocery cart!

on the submarine... wooo wooo!

Sarah has also taken to invading all of Shiner's spaces. I now realize that a doggie bed is a perfect nap spot for a toddler. Why don't they sell these for toddlers? Has to be better than a nap mat...

She literally swung herself in there. Impressive!
